Katie’s
First Annual 5K/2K Fun Walk on Saturday,
May 12th, 2012 is a fund raiser for Katie’s
Foundation for Child Safety.
We welcome
runners of all ages so gather your family,
friends and co-workers. Walkers are also
invited to participate using the same course.
Both the Run and Walk start and finish
at Abington Friends School. in Jenkintown,
PA. The entire walk will be on the beautiful
campus of AFS.

AFS was founded in 1697 and located at 575
Washington Lane in Jenkintown, PA. AFS is
the oldest primary and secondary educational
institution in the United States to operate
continuously at the same location under
the same management. The map is
directly below. |

Submit a check/money
order for $20 to Katie’s Foundation
for Child Safety by April 30th to receive
a Katie’s First Annual 5K/2K Fun
Walk cotton shirt.
The fee for entries
received after April 30th, and Race Day,
is $25 while T-shirts last.
Size requests
will be honored to the best of our ability
but size may be substituted.
Participants may also choose to register
online at www.pretzelcitysports.com.
A
nominal
service fee is applied. Registration
closes at midnight May 8, 2012. The Wednesday
before race day.

Our 2nd Annual
Beef and Beer was a big success!
We would like to thank everyone who attended

Our 2012 Butterfly Release
and Safety Fair will be help
on July 28th from 11 AM - 2 PM on the
grounds of Temple Jeanes Hospital in
Northeast Philadelphia.

Katie’s
Foundation for Child Safety is the winner
of the 2012 Outstanding Community
Leadership Award, given by The Abington-Rockledge
Democratic Committee (ARDC). This award
singles out one individual or organization
that has shown unparalleled dedication
to the safety, improvement or advocacy
of the Abington-Rockledge community. Much
sought-after, this prestigious award rewards
the important work being done by citizens
of the region.
The Foundation
will receive the award at the ARDC’s
21st Annual Spring Banquet and Silent
Auction on Sunday, April 1, at the Old
York Road Country Club, 801 Tennis Avenue,
Ambler, PA. The event features keynote
speaker Abington Township Commissioner
Madeleine Dean, the candidate for State
House of Representatives, 153rd Legislative
District, and special guest speaker, the
Honorable Edward G. Rendell.

Once
again it’s time for the Baby & Toddler
Expo and Katie’s Foundation for Child
Safety will have a booth. The Expo will
take place Friday April 27th and Saturday
April 28th, 2012 at the Greater
Philadelphia Expo Center, located in Oaks, PA.
The Expo is sponsored by Montgomery
Media and Parents Express and is especially helpful
for families with babies and toddlers,
expectant parents and grandparents. Make
sure you mark your calendars for the Baby & Toddler
Expo, you’ll be glad you did.

Katie Elise Lambert was born one beautiful
hot summer day, July 30th, 2001.
She was an incredible gift from
God with bright brown eyes and
soft silky brown hair. From day
one, her contagious smile and loving
personality infected all those
around her. Sadly and suddenly,
on January 21, 2005, our precious
angel Katie was taken from us when
a large wardrobe cabinet fell on
top of her. Her untimely and cruel
death have left us incomplete.
Katie has left behind two older
brothers, two grieving parents
and countless others whose lives
have been changed forever.
The creation of the Katie Elise Lambert
website has been established for two
reasons:

- To educate the public on the potential
hazard of falling furniture
- To help ensure and protect the
safety of all children both inside
and outside the home.

(c) 3 organization
dedicated to raising awareness of the dangers of unsecured furniture/TVs.
